Benefit Concert for musical instruments for Cross Lake First Nation

The KAIROS Manitoba & NW Ontario Coordinating Committee is working along with the Quakers and Epiphany Indigenous Anglican Church developing a music program with at risk children and teens on First Nations in the north and in Winnipeg.  We fund raise for musical instruments to be gifted to communities where adults and older teens will teach the kids to play a musical instrument.  Cross Lake First Nation has asked for 20 ukuleles and 15 guitars, and a keyboard, which we have been able to provide.  You'll recall Cross Lake has one of the highest suicide rates and their community is delighted with the gifts. They have people willing to teach the kids.  Recently they closed the school due to the temperature and the kids still came to play their instruments!  The kids even had a bake sale!

The Wpg partnership is being worked on with some after school programs through Epiphany's Indigenous connections.

With this brief background we are planning a benefit concert for April 13, 2019.
