After completing a series of KAIROS Blanket Exercise (KBE) model validation/follow-up virtual sessions with participants from our initial forum participants (who shared feedback during our consultations over the summer), as well as gaining additional insights from our national and international partners over the past month to further inform the model, the consultation period to shape the new KBE model is concluding. Therefore, we will no longer seek additional feedback at this time. This will ensure we’re able to meet our timeline to deliver the new model currently scheduled for late fall. Another key step in this effort includes the establishment of a new KBE Indigenous Advisory Circle. As part of the formation of this advisory circle, we are developing a guiding framework to inform the creation and expectations of this group. In early November, Elders, Knowledge Keepers, and community members who registered to attend a KBE discussion circle focused on gathering feedback on the proposed guiding framework/Terms of Reference (TOR) for the KBE Indigenous Advisory Circle, and the selection process that would be used to form this group. Once the guiding framework/Terms or Reference (TOR) is created and finalized, we will then invite expressions of interest from those who wish to participate. Lastly, throughout our planning and engagement process, we received numerous questions from our community members. To make this information easily accessible, we've compiled these questions and answers into a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) document, which you will find on this page. Stay tuned for our next update when we will provide more information about our progress and plans to share the new and official KBE model. If you have any questions about the KBE program, please send us an email at kbe@kairoscanada.org. |
