Time may have run out on Bill C-262. Although originally scheduled to adjourn on June 28, the Senate is now expected to wrap up today, National Indigenous Peoples Day, leaving several bills, including Bill C-262, in limbo.

At a press conference on June 15, the Minister of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship announced two new Caregiver Pilot Programs that will improve the lives and working conditions of migrant caregivers.

KAIROS is part of an exciting new project in Winnipeg designed to enhance understanding among newcomers to Canada about Indigenous people. The project seeks to foster safe spaces for cross cultural learning and dialogue, with the primary objective of educating newcomers on Indigenous issues as a precursor to the process of relationship building between communities. 

The Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour

KAIROS recently partnered with the Friends of Kingston Inner Harbour for a Reconciliation in the Watershed workshop. This dynamic community organization is open to local residents and anyone interested in preserving and enhancing the Inner Harbour neighbourhood and waterfront. Initiatives include stewardship of the Inner Harbour shoreline through yearly community clean-ups; public environmental education and research initiatives related to Inner Harbour turtles; arts activities; the creation of a 20 km multi-use trail; and preservation of Inner Harbour heritage sites, both tangible and intangible.
