Canada is preparing to host world leaders for the G7 summit in June 2018. This is a golden opportunity to call on the Canadian government to demonstrate climate leadership and take the necessary steps to end fossil fuel subsidies.

KAIROS organized a delegation of migrant caregivers and advocates in Ottawa on March 23 to meet with Members of Parliament, including Jenny Kwan, MP and Vice-Chair of the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration, and to participate in a consultation with Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The delegates urged Canada to ensure that the pathway to permanent residency for migrant caregivers is guaranteed and protected.

The final of five Indigenous and Newcomer Friendships events was held on March 22 in Thunder Bay, on the traditional territory of the Fort William First Nation.

This video, released on March 8, International Women's Day, profiles two women of courage: Agnes Wasuk and Awak Deng from the National Women’s Programme of the South Sudan Council of Churches (SSCC), a KAIROS partner.

This year we celebrate Earth Day on a Sunday (April 22) – a unique opportunity for worship in celebration and reverence for the Earth. KAIROS’ updated Earth Sunday worship resource is grounded in the struggle of Indigenous peoples and the particular challenges we face as a result of resource extraction on traditional lands and the increasingly devastating impacts of climate change.
