Resiliency and hope are the driving messages of KAIROS' second annual Climate Action Month, beginning September 1. This month-long online event is intended to inspire and motivate collective action for climate justice. Each day in September, KAIROS will focus on an aspect of the climate crisis – sharing resources, events, stories from our members and global partners, and actions for climate justice. The calendar will focus on five weekly themes: Season of Creation, Just Transition, Indigenous Rights, Global Climate Justice, and Water.

Last year, Climate Action Month galvanized action around the Global Climate Strike and the October federal election. This year’s Climate Action Month is marked by the COVID-19 pandemic, which has laid bare the interconnectedness of the global economic and ecological crises. In a post-pandemic recovery, we call on our leaders to act boldly to ensure the integrity of our planet, and to uphold basic human rights and the dignity of all peoples. We all have a voice. Let’s ensure that message is heard loud and clear!

Climate Action Month will once again feature the #30DayKAIROSChallenge to encourage a daily practice of learning, reflection, community building, and advocacy for climate justice. We have curated 30 specific actions for September and a resource to track your actions throughout the month. The Action Card is designed to be used at any time.
